  • This roadrunner seemed to be displaying for a female or another male.  I never saw another roadrunner in the vicinity.  Perhaps he was just trying to warn me off.

  • Hummingbirds can actually open their mouths quite wide.  Not only can they open their mouths they can actually flex or curve the beak to create an even wider opening.  It may just be perspective, but I believe that this bird has the lower portion of his bill curved downward.
