Backyard Spiders

I saw two tarantulas in the same day. One was seen while taking a walk in the neighborhood. I didn't have a camera with me, but was elated to find this one in the back yard on arriving home. I dont see these often. Perhaps mating season had them on the move.

I got down on my belly to take this picture. I laughed when my wife said, "be careful he might attack." I scraped my elbows getting out of the way when he charged.
