Riviera Maya Vacation

These pictures are from a family vacation the Riviera Maya on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. They were taken from March 20th to the 24th, 2007. The pictures are from the Grand Sirenis Resort, the Mayan Ruins at Chichen Itza, and the Xel-Ha water park.

  • Lower level of the lobby.  This level faces the ocean.  A lovely breeze flow through the lower level lobby up and out through the upper level lobby.  There are no doors on the front or back of these grand lobbies.

  • A windy first day at the beach.  The seas were rough. The wind swept fronds of the palm trees suggests the strength of the wind. Beach at the Grand Sirenis Resort. Riviera Maya.

  • The wind was quite high on our first day at the resort.  Most people had the good sense to stay out of the water.  I waded into the water in an area with a lot of coral.  I got scrapped and banged about quite a bit.  It was much calmer the next several days.

  • Everything was calm the morning of the second day. The building is the resort dive shop.  The workers are there before sunrise getting everything ready.  Grand Sirenis Resort.  Riviera Maya.
